I was in this exact same place 6 years ago.
I have this very clear memory of when I used to sit in my beige office, feeling like the walls were closing on me. I had even printed a window with an ocean view and glued it on the wall next to my computer, so I would feel less trapped.
I simply don’t fit in the 9 to 5 mold. Because I need the kind of freedom that the corporate world cannot give me. So I decided to quit my job and take a year off to travel, and think about what I would do. The thing is: I didn’t have a lot of savings, but I could not afford to stay at work another month without risking another depression. I had no choice but to earn a living while I’d be traveling. I basically became a digital nomad out of necessity.
I truly had to figure it out on my own, by trial and error. So yes, I learned the hard and slow way. But along the way, I’ve created and picked up so many tools, lessons and exercises that honestly changed everything for me.
The point is, I wouldn’t have been able to create a life of freedom for myself without one key element.
I shifted my mindset. Once my mindset was in the right place, everything seemed to just fall into place. Business opportunities seem to arise out of left field, objectives that once seemed blurry became clear as the sky - and that’s not a coincidence.
